Year 9 Options

In year 9 students decide which subjects they want to study for their GCSEs. We call these their Options.

Some subjects are compulsory, but students can choose others. This page will help you support your child as they make these choices and answer some questions that you may have.

 

All students need to take the following subjects:

​

• English Language and Literature

• Maths

• Science - either Combined or Separate Sciences

• Core Religious Studies (This can also be chosen as  GCSE subject)

• Core PSHE

• Core PE
