Year 7 Transition
At Colton Hills we are committed to providing you with all of the information you need to help as you support your child through their education.
Transition Days - Monday, 1 July and Tuesday, 2 July
An opportunity to start to get to know your way around the school, meet some key staff and students.
Parental Event - Tuesday, 2 July (Evening)
A chance for families and parents to come and attend a talk about our school, find out more information and ask questions to key members of the staff body. Uniform suppliers will also be on site for families to purchase the school kit.
Summer School - Monday, 19 August - Friday, 23 August
In addition to our usual transition activities, we will also be holding a fantastic Summer School which is open to all Year 6 students during the summer holiday. Information will be sent to families before the event.
First day of school timings for Year 7- Tuesday, 3 September, 8.30AM (Theatre for assembly)

Please note new school times from September 2024:
As a school we ensure that all students have a chance to drop everything and read (DEAR) every day for 20 minutes. At present this is taken out of subject lesson time. From September 2024, DEAR will have its own time on the timetable along with Personal Social Health Education. In order to create time for this to happen we have had to change the school day, which has been ratified by the full Governing Body.
The new school day will be as follows and as you can see it means that there will be a 3pm finish every day:
